Steve and Jodi Richards, along with their two children, Anna and Alex, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship serving in Papua, Indonesia. They have served with MAF for 10 years and current live in Naibre. Steve is a pilot, mechanic, instructor pilot and base manager of the Nabire base. Jodi keeps busy making family life run as smoothly as possible in a developing country. She oversees Anna's 3rd grade and Alex's 1st grade A Beka DVD curriculum, hosts various guests and enjoys developing relationships with women at a local aerobics class.
Their ministry includes helping western missionaries reach tribes that just 10 years ago had never seen a westerner to moblizing national evangelistic to reach other tribal groups who have not yet heard the gospel.Daniel 7:14 prophesize that “all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him,” we are blessed to have a part in making that happen!

Steve grew up in TX and FL, finally settling in Andover, MN, where he remained until high school graduation. At age ten, as a result of his parents' influence, Steve accepted Christ as his Savior. He gained interest in missions when visiting missionaries stayed in his parents' home. Steve received a B.S. in Missionary Aviation Technology from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. He is a commercial pilot and a certified flight instructor, as well as an airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanic.
Jodi, the child of missionaries, was born in Manila, Philippines. She was four when her family returned to the States where her father took a pastorate at a church in Broomfield, CO. Jodi accepted Christ because of Vacation Bible School at age five. She participated in several short-term mission projects in high school and college. Jodi also attended Moody Bible Institute where she received a B.A. in Education and Bible. She received her Masters in Elementary and Special Education from Milligan College in Elizabethton, TN. Jodi's brother introduced Steve to her while they were students at Moody Bible Institute. They were married in December 1996.
