Brendan Blowers will be serving with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Latin America, in the field of Learning Technologies (LT), using technology-supported distance education to train leaders worldwide. One of his favorite verses is John 3:17: “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Brendan says, “I believe it is part of everyone’s purpose on earth to be a part of God’s redemptive love.”

Brendan was born in Redmond, Washington, but spent his first eight years growing up in Nampa, Idaho, across the street from his grandparents. He then spent the next ten years in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where his parents served as missionaries. Upon graduating from high school in Haiti, Brendan attended Northwest Nazarene University, where he obtained a degree in Mass Communications, and minored in philosophy.

During his college years he traveled to several countries on short-term mission teams with his friends and family. He has worked as a computer technician, a tutor, and a substitute teacher. While in Haiti, Brendan discovered a love for scuba diving. He also enjoys photography, reading, writing, and making movies.

God’s love has been a sustaining factor throughout his life, and his desire is to help share this love by communicating cross-culturally through the use of media. Since much of his childhood was spent in a cross-cultural environment, he enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in diverse settings. At an early age, Brendan accepted Jesus as God’s divine expression of love to himself and all people, and seeks to continually come into a deeper relationship with God and others.

Brendan’s life verse and driving hope is found in Hebrews 11:13-16, “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance … They were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF.
