"What then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:31,35,37
These verses are very significant for the Rogers, having just complete their first term as a pilot/mechanic family with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Living in Uganda, Africa, they have been serving the people there, as well as in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Sudan. David says this passage not only provides hope for him, but also fortifies his desire for others to have that same hope and know that same love.
David and Amy, along with their children, Daniel, Emma, Elyanna, and Hallie, enjoy knowing they have been able to assist in healing those who are sick, bringing the Gospel to very remote areas in Africa, and seeing many people come to a deeper relationship with Christ. As David flies missionaries, aid workers, and much needed supplies, he knows MAF is making a difference for many people.
Amy feels that Psalm 68:19 expresses her joy for all that God is doing in and through their lives. "Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our Salvation. Selah." Amy loves this verse because it is so clear about what can be expected each day from God. "There's no question of condition," she shares. "Everyday God LOADS us with benefits, and those benefits start with our salvation. What an amazing God!" This is Amy's desire for the people in Africa too, as she is involved with children's ministries at their local church, and with adoption training. Working with training both Ugandan and international adoptive parents through a local ministry, Amy knows first-hand the joys and challenges of providing a rich, loving home for adopted children. David and Amy met when David, as a visiting missionary, was teaching a Sunday School class at her church in Hesperia, CA. They were married in July 2004. David and Amy look forward to what God has in store for them in future years with MAF. God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in the Rogers' ministry with MAF. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with David and Amy through prayer and/or financial support.
