Paul and Barbara Dukes are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship, serving in Sentani, Papua, Indonesia. They share that it is always a joy to go to the interior of Papua and see how the ministry of MAF has, and continues to have, an impact on the local people, both now and for eternity.

As the Maintenance Operations Manager for the four Cessna Caravan aircraft flying in Papua, Paul’s responsibilities include overseeing the routine inspections, and the national mechanics assigned to Caravan maintenance. He works with the local authorities (DGAC) on the Certification of Airworthiness for Papua’s total fleet of aircraft, as well as the paperwork for our Approved Maintenance Organization. Paul is also actively involved in the National Training program.

Barbara helps out MAF in many small ways and is involved in the community of expats and nationals. She is constantly looking to God for leading in the ways she can help and be involved.

Paul’s favorite verse is Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” He shares that this is what he strives to do.

Barbara shares that her favorite verse changes depending on what is gong on in her life, but Psalm 131:1,2 are verses that have always been a constant for her. “My heart is not proud, O Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a waned child is my soul within me.” For Barbara, these verses state what she feels – that she humbles herself before God. “I get my peace from Him. Obeying and worshiping Him is my priority.”

Paul and Barbara have three grown children: Ailie, Jonathan, and Anthony.

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF.

You are invited to become a ministry partner with Paul and Barbara in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with them through prayer and/or financial support.
