Tim and Kay Dyk
with their sons, Nathan, David, and Robert, are missionaries with
Mission Aviation Fellowship. Their first term was in Kinshasa, Zaire,
now known as Democratic Republic of Congo. Since 1989 they have been
assigned to MAF’s headquarters which moved from Redlands, CA to Nampa,
Idaho in July 2006. Tim is the manager of the Avionics Department.
Being based at headquarters, Tim assists all of the programs overseas
with radio technical expertise. He shares that it is rewarding to
support MAF’s ministry as he visits each base and stays with the
different staff families. “Each family has really dedicated themselves
to the Lord and the missions and people that they serve. I love working
on airplanes, but the real reward is seeing what God is doing around
the world!”

With increased staffing in the headquarter's Radio and Avionics Shop, Tim has been able to help almost every MAF overseas program in Africa, Asia, South America, and Indonesia.
Kay works on “keeping the house together” while Tim is traveling, as well as being a “soccer mom” to their boys. She continues to teach CPR at Redlands Community Hospital, has done some part-time accounting work at a local non-profit company, and has recently completed an Internet university course in medical coding.
Tim’s favorite verses are Romans 8:37-39. “… in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” These verses are a constant reminder to Tim that God will always uphold us no matter what happens in this world.
II Corinthians 4:16-18 are special verses for Kay. “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” Kay shares that “things do not go according to plan everyday, but it is reassuring to know that God is in the midst of everything that happens to us. Instead of perusing temporary values, we live for what will last for eternity.”
Tim was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. His mother led him to the Lord when he was 6 years old. Tim served in the Air Force as a communications specialist and had extensive training in electronics at various schools. He is a licensed commercial instrument pilot, has an A&P mechanic’s license, a commercial FCC license, and he is currently working on his FAA Inspector Authorization.
Kay grew up in north central Montana on a wheat farm. Kay accepted Christ as her Savior at age 6 at her home church in Ft. Benton. She attended Multnomah School of the Bible and then received her B.S. in Business Finance at Montana State University. Tim and Kay met in 1971 and were married in 1977 in Great Falls, MT.
