Reg and Mary Epp, along with their children Erin, Emily, and Jason, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship. From 1986 to 1999 the Epps served in Botswana, on-loan to Flying Mission. They are currently serving at MAF’s Headquarters in Nampa, ID. The highlight of their ministry is assisting the fellowship with tasks that help the people on the field accomplish their work and ministry. “From preparing and repairing airplanes for service overseas, to helping care for children of families on home service, we feel we are a vital part of the work of MAF.”

Since their return from Botswana, Reg has been working in the hangar with the rebuilding and outfitting of good, used aircraft for return to service overseas. The airplanes usually receive new or additional radios, and a major airframe overhaul, as well as a new engine. Reg shares, “I have also enjoyed learning more about turbine powered aircraft.”

Mary shares that together with her responsibilities as a wife and mother, she also works part-time at MAF Headquarters with the Department of Research as a project assistant. A new opportunity that she thoroughly enjoys is helping with missionary children orientation.

Reg was born in Kansas, but moved around a lot, as his father was a pastor. He trusted the Lord as his personal Savior at age five, through his sister’s concern, and his father’s guidance. After a year at Grace University, he joined a Christian musical-drama group, The Agape Players. It was here that he met Mary and they were married in 1978.

Mary grew up in the Chicago area. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of four. Her parents were a godly influence in her life, and she dedicated herself to Christian service at age 13.

Isaiah 40:31 is a special verse for Reg. “I have been encouraged by God’s continued renewal in my life. He has taken us through many valleys. It is there, in the valleys that we have seen Him lift us up ‘on eagle’s wings.’” For Mary, I John 3:1 is one of her favorite verses. “I am encouraged by this verse to see myself as the child of God that I am, and let my life reflect that.”

Reg and Mary share, “We continue to praise God for our children as Erin finishes her schooling to become a speech/language pathologist, and Emily finishes her accounting degree. We also thank the Lord for our son Jason, who has been cancer-free since October 2000, which was when he received the last of his brain tumor treatments. He is now at college studying Bible and missions. We feel we are where God wants us with Reg filling a great need in the hangar, while Mary enjoys serving in the Headquarters office. She is also involved with children’s ministry at church and in the community. Reg travels occasionally on trips overseas to help with maintenance projects. He finds this very fulfilling, and we are open to the Lord’s leading WHEREVER that may be in the future!”

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF.

You are invited to become a ministry partner with Reg and Mary in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with them through prayer and/or financial support.
