Bryan's BlogPreparing to leave for Lesotho! What a journey its been! I am nearly finished with Standardization training here in Nampa, Idaho. It's been a wonderful time filled with spiritual classes and cultural experiences as well as very specialized flight and maintenance training. Praise God for His faithfulness! Last week I officially met my support goal of $4,800/month! I will be leaving for Lesotho around middle-January. It is really hard to believe that I will be in Africa in less than two months! If you are reading this; I invite you to check out my facebook group: The Lesotho Logbook. I've posted pictures and many more messages there about my journey. Thank you for being a part of this ministry! May God bless you this Christmas as you celebrate Jesus' birth! ~Bryan 11/30/08 Posted: 11/30/2008
Dad and me at the Mariner's gameLast Sunday I went to the Seattle Mariner's game with my Dad. We were convinced to go because the weather was so nice, and if we were going to sit and watch the worst team in baseball play the second-worst team in baseball we might as well do it on a nice, sunny day! Well, the Mariners lost 6-2 but both my Dad and me had a good time at the game! My favorite part was when the fans booed the first-base umpire for nearly three innings because he made a game-deciding homerun call for the 'other' team. The player for said team hit a long fly ball which skimmed off the foul pole and landed in foul territory. It ended up being a three-run homerun which was the deciding factor in the game. It made me think though...If the ball is fair when it hits any part of the foul pole why don't they call it a 'fair pole' -Bryan 06/19/2008 Posted: 6/19/2008
June-uaryOk, I am usually not one to complain about Washington weather...but c'mon! It is 50 degrees outside and it has rained every day in June so far! People around here are starting to call it June-uary! Oh well, nothing you can do about the weather anyways, my friend in North Carolina has been suffering under 110 degree heat and 100% humidity, I am almost feeling sorry for him but to tell you the truth, that kind of weather doesn't seem so bad at the moment! I guess a Washingtonian's only hope now is to pray for a sunny day on July 4th! That would be grand! -Bryan 06/11/08 Posted: 6/11/2008
Family is so important!I had the privilege to spend Mother's Day with my Mom a couple weeks ago, It was so good to see my Mom again and great to spend some quality time with her! My time on deputation has been incredibly busy, on the other hand, knowing that I will be leaving for Africa soon has highlighted the importance of each moment spent with friends and most importantly...My family! On my drive back home, I stopped by my Dad's house and visited with him and my stepmother. My stepmother is currently battling breast cancer; please keep her in your prayers. I have always enjoyed spending time with my family; in the last few months, however, it has been more special to me. I hope to have many more special moments with them before I leave. Bryan 05/21/08

My spiritual journeyApril 23rd, 2008: week 12 on deputation Lately the Lord has been teaching me to fully trust in Him. Deputation is a difficult assignment; it is the most challenging and faith-stretching time in my life! It is also filled with small, glorious moments when it is evident that the Lord is calling me into this ministry. These moments include times where my heart is broken for the people of Lesotho; I feel like a cannot wait another second before I leave! I yearn to be with my team, reaching out to these precious people with the love of Jesus Christ! I also am fully aware that throughout my deputation period, the Lord is preparing my heart for service and pointing out areas in my life that are lacking and not fully devoted to God. The greatest part of my assignment is not when an individual or church joins my support team, but when a friend who I have known for sometime comes up to me and mentions how they have seen me grow spiritually through this process! If you know the Lord Jesus as your personal savior; what an amazing, fun, exciting journey this can be! Bryan 04/23/08 Posted: 4/23/2008
