Dad and me at the Mariner's game

Last Sunday I went to the Seattle Mariner's game with my Dad.  We were convinced to go because the weather was so nice, and if we were going to sit and watch the worst team in baseball play the second-worst team in baseball we might as well do it on a nice, sunny day!

Well, the Mariners lost 6-2 but both my Dad and me had a good time at the game!  My favorite part was when the fans booed the first-base umpire for nearly three innings because he made a game-deciding homerun call for the 'other' team.  The player for said team hit a long fly ball which skimmed off the foul pole and landed in foul territory.  It ended up being a three-run homerun which was the deciding factor in the game.

It made me think though...If the ball is fair when it hits any part of the foul pole why don't they call it a 'fair pole'Laughing
