Craig and Christa Hollander, with their children Faith and Sean, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship serving in Indonesia. As a pilot/mechanic, Craig has flown hundreds of passengers and thousands of pounds of cargo each month in support of church and community development projects in the isolated mountain villages of East Kalimantan. This past term Craig had the privilege of using his aviation skills to bring hope and life-saving supplies to cut-off survivors in 5 refugee camps along the tsunami-devastated coastline of Aceh. Craig says, “It has been very satisfying to have a critical role in helping to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people in the heart of Indonesian Borneo and the island of Sumatra.” Craig's favorite verses are Revelations 5:5-6a. He feels “these verses are an awesome summary of history and eternity. The Lion who rules is a Lamb who was dead but now is alive! God’s glory is everywhere, from the indignity of the cross to the brilliance of heaven."

Craig was raised in Ripon, California. Through the lives and testimony of friends in high school, Craig realized his need for salvation. As part of the high school church youth group, he made several short mission trips to Mexico. During Urbana '93, Craig sealed his commitment to serve in missions. He attended Boston University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He earned a B.S. in Missionary Aviation from Moody Aviation in Tennessee. Craig holds a commercial single-engine and multi-engine pilot's license, is a certified flight instructor and an airframe and powerplant mechanic. This next term, in addition to continuing his work as a line pilot/mechanic, Craig will have the added responsibilities of being an MAF instructor pilot, helping with airstrip checkouts and giving proficiency flight reviews to his fellow MAF pilots.

Christa was raised in Galt, California. She accepted Christ as a child. Her Christian walk was influenced most by her parents, teachers, and youth pastors. During junior high, she read many missionary biographies. Their commitment and sacrifice inspired her to be willing to live for God in whatever way He chose. Christa earned a B.A. in Bible Theology/Biblical Languages from Moody Bible Institute. Christa and Craig met at Moody and were married three years later.

As Christa has provided hospitality to visitors coming to Kalimantan, and raised her young family, she has become aware of just how much God’s protection is needed every day for health and safety and cannot be taken for granted. Psalm 28:7 is especially close to her heart.

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from thousands of His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling thousands of Christians like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF.

You are invited to become a ministry partner with Craig and Christa in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with them through prayer and/or financial support.
