Danny and Leslie Hulls joined Mission Aviation Fellowship in 2004 and have spent the last 5 years serving the people of Lesotho, Africa. MAF does about 80% of its flying to aid the Flying Doctors Service as they care for the people in remote mountain villages. In this tiny kingdom devastated by decades of drought, famine, and the HIV/AIDS virus, it is easy to feel hopeless. Danny shares that Isaiah40:31 is a great encouragement to him, that he is never facing the day alone, and that no matter how desolate a situation seems, he knows that his hope is in the Lord.

In addition to flying doctors, missionaries, nationals and supplies, Danny has spent a lot of time training new MAF pilots to fly in this mountainous terrain, since becoming Chief Pilot in 2009. When he is not out flying, Danny and Evi sometimes get to spend time together visiting with the kids in the pediatric section of the local hospital, which they both find quite rewarding.
Leslie shares that she enjoys the challenges of making a home and raising their children on the mission field. "I feel very blessed to support my husband in his work, because while it is a demanding job, it is also a ministry that Danny truly loves and feels fervently called to." Her "go to" verse is Isaiah 41:10. She shares, "Being so far away from family and friends while immersed in a new and challenging way of life can be difficult. This verse reminds me that God is my Helper and that He is always with me.
Danny was born and raised in Flagstaff, AZ. His parents were a great example of the Christian faith. They taught him his need for the Lord. Daniel accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 5. Throughout high school he was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship and made several trips to an orphanage in Mexico. "By the end of high school, I knew that God was calling me to missions, and He kept opening doors that led me into the aviation end of missions. Daniel attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, and Moody Aviation in Elizabethton, TN.
Leslie was born and raised in Elizabethton, TN. When she was younger, a local church sent a bus out into her neighborhood to take people to church. She and her sister began going on a regular basis. Even though her parents had always taught her about Jesus, she realized for the first time that she needed Him to be her Savior. She accepted Christ at the age of 9. Leslie became aware of missions while attending Milligan College in Elizabethton. She had no clear vision until she met Daniel and saw his excitement for missionary aviation. She knew this was what God wanted for her, too.
At Milligan College Leslie earned her B.A. in English, with a minor in Bible. She also received her teaching certificate and taught high school English.
Daniel and Leslie met in their church college group in TN. They were married in 2000.
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in the Hull's ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with Danny and Leslie through prayer and/or financial support.
