KWVE is joining with its listeners to help make history: To buy the very first airplane that has ever been designed and built specifically for mission work for carrying the Gospel to people who might not otherwise hear it!
The airplane is called the Kodiak 100 and it will save lives for now and for eternity in Papua, Indonesia, which is the largest flight program in the world for Mission Aviation Fellowship.
The Kodiak 100 will be replacing MAF Cessna 206s in Papua. The Cessna 206 has been the backbone of the MAF fleet in Indonesia but the Kodiak will help advance the work of MAF in dramatic ways. The Kodiak is larger, flies faster, and carries more than the Cessna 206.
Most importantly, there is a severe shortage of aviation fuel in Papua, which has sometimes grounded the Cessna 206s.
Jet fuel, however, is widely available and cheaper than aviation gas—and that's what the Kodiak uses, jet fuel also known as turbine fuel!
MAF now serves more than 800 missions and humanitarian organizations world wide, many of which are in Indonesia. MAF's ability to transport missionaries, pastors, doctors, nurses, and teachers will be advanced with the arrival of the Kodiak along with their ability to transport Bibles as well as medical and constructions supplies. And MAF will be able to conduct even more emergency air ambulance flights for those in urgent medical need will be welcomed.
A good friend of MAF is contributing $50,000 to start this campaign and has further promised to match every dollar given for this Kodiak for Papua—so your donation will be doubled and go twice as far.
And remember, if you use your MAF Platinum Rewards VISA for making your donation, you'll get double the reward points.

Here is a comparison of the effectiveness of the Kodiak compared to a standard MAF Cessna 206:

| Seating capacity, including pilot | 6 | 10 |
| Useful load, after pilot and fuel for 500 nautical miles | 912 lbs. | 2,195 lbs. |
| Maximum cruise speed at 10,000 feet | 125 nm/hr | 185 nm/hr |
| Maximum flight distance at 10,000 feet (in nautical miles) | 618 nm | 1,233 nm |
| Fuel capacity (useable) | 88 gal. | 320 gal. |
| Fuel cost per gallon (varies by location; estimated average worldwide cost) | $10 | $4 |
| Maintenance cost per hour | $27 | $68 |
| Operating cost per nautical mile | $1.79 | $1.73 |
| Cost per seat mile | $.36 | $.19 |
| Cost per pound per mile, based on 500 nm trip | $.001965 | $.000788 |
| Cost to deliver 900 lbs. cargo based on 500 nm trip (assumes maximum load capacity for both aircraft: 900 lbs. for Cessna; 2,000 lbs. for Kodiak) | $884 | $355 |
