Dick and Mary Martin, with their children, Ben (19), Kara (17), and Joel (8), are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Sentani, Papua, Indonesia. Recently a new mission aircraft, the Quest Kodiak, has arrived and begun service here in Papua. This new turbine powered aircraft is a critical tool for the future of mission aviation ministry in Papua, as well as in many other fields around the world. As a family, we have monitored the progress of the Kodiak for many years. It is very exciting to have it here and begin to see how its use can benefit the people of Papua. We anticipate having two more new Kodiak's in Papua in by the mid 2010.

Dick’s primary responsibilities lie in the areas of aircraft maintenance safety and training for new staff and recurrency training for seasoned staff. In addition, he monitors safety standards in maintenance operations.
Matthew 11:29 is a crucial verse in Dick’s life. "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” He shares, "this verse challenges me to learn from Jesus, to sit at His feet as His student. It comes with a promise that if I do learn from Him, I will find rest for my soul.”
Mary devotes most of her time to the care of their family, but has been privileged to help as a parent volunteer and school board member at the Hillcrest International School. She also provides a very important shopping service for MAF families living at interior bases. This allows the families to have what they need for their households without having to spend days traveling and shopping for themselves.
An important verse for Mary is Psalm 37:5. “Commit your way to the Lord; Trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass.” She shares that “this verse is one that calms my heart each and every day, no matter what task is before me.”
To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing loyal, generous ministry support from His most caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you around the world to play a special role in the ministry of MAF.
