Warren and Julie Veal, with their children, Riley, Julianne, Elyssa, Shelby, and Quinton, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship serving in Mozambique. From Mozambique, they consider it a privilege to serve the missionaries and national pastors ministering among the various tribal groups in the region.
Beyond providing needed transport for medical emergencies and flying in supplies, the airplane provides the opportunity for translators, and Bible teachers to visit remote areas of Mozambique, which are not easily accessible. In addition to flying, Warren also maintains his aircraft. Julie divides her days between caring for their children and keeping contact with Warren via the shortwave radio during his flights. She often provides hospitality to missionaries visiting from the interior posts.

Warren was born in Denver, Colorado, moving several times with his family as he grew up. His parents nurtured his Christian faith. At the tender age of four, Warren asked Christ to be his Savior. Warren became aware of missions early in life through his mom and dad who had been missionaries themselves.
Following high school graduation, Warren attended Wheaton College and then Moody Bible Institute where he earned a B.S. degree in missionary aviation technology. He holds licenses as an airframe and powerplant mechanic, and as a commercial pilot with a certified flight instructor rating.
Julie was born and raised in Brazil. Her parents, missionaries to a tribal village, shared with her the truth of Christ’s love, and Julie received Jesus Christ as her Savior at age four. During high school, Julie experienced some doubts about her salvation and, through God’s prompting, reaffirmed her trust in Christ.
Julie attended the New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, Wisconsin. While there she realized God was calling her to missions. She then enrolled at Wheaton College where she met Warren. They were both Bible study leaders with the Navigators on campus. Julie graduated from Wheaton College with a B.A. degree in elementary education. They married on July 1, 1992.
Warren claims Ezekiel 36:23 as a favorite verse. “I will show the holiness of my great name…then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes.” Warren says, “This verse reminds me of God’s purpose, and that He is the one who will accomplish His purpose.” When Julie is feeling inadequate to the tasks before her, Galatians 2:20 reminds her that it is, “Not I, but Christ”. “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
