Ron & Rosalind Wismer, along with their sons, Daniel, James and Mark, are career missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship. After joining MAF in August 1985, they moved to Africa, where they lived and served for sixteen years. Since 2003, they have been working at MAF's headquarters.

While living in Africa (Zaire/DRC, Central African Republic, Mali), Ron served as a pilot-mechanic and program manager and Roz had the responsibilities of wife and mother.

Whether the task was to: inspect and fuel the airplane, instruct a first time passenger in the use of the seatbelts, load and unload medicines, care for a child, feed the unexpected visitor, shop for co-workers, give a shot or clean a wound, or teach a Sunday school class, the desire and motivation of the Wismers has been to be people who follow and honor God so that all people might have access to the Gospel and resources that advance God's Kingdom.

Though currently living in Nampa, Idaho, Ron and Roz are privileged to work with people whom God is preparing and using to be co-laborers around the world.  Ron is the manager of Research for MAF which involves looking for new areas for MAF service, using aviation, communication, and learning technology.  He also assists the MAF management team with evaluations of our current operations so that when we do open new programs, we are not affecting our strategy or purposes where God has called us.

Roz has helped in several ways as a receptionist, a co-leader in classes for children heading overseas, and assistance with childcare and guest-housing.

Ron was raised in a Christian home in Michigan, accepting the Lord at age 10. After two years at Wheaton College, he went on to Moody Aviation, and graduated with a BS in Mission Aviation Technology. Ron is a commercial pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings plus an aircraft mechanics license (A&P). Ron has received his airplane transport pilot's (ATP) license.  Though he does not fly regularly, he has been known to fill in as a substitute pilot as needs arise. His life verse is: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3

Roz grew up in Chesterfield, Indiana, and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a child. She attended Taylor University for two years and graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Nursing. She and Ron were married in 1984. Verses from the New Testament writings of Paul (Colossians 1:10 & 3:17; Philippians 4:8) and Peter (I Peter 3:15) are challenges as well as guidelines for Roz for everyday living, whether in Africa or America.

To fund the worldwide ministry of MAF, God is faithful in providing generous ministry support from His caring people. He has called the men and women of MAF to serve Him in a unique way. He is also calling people like you to play a special role in the ministry of MAF around the world .

You are invited to become a ministry partner with Ron and Roz in this strategic ministry. Please prayerfully consider involvement with them through prayer or financial support.
