After 7 years in Ecuador as a pilot/mechanic family, Kevin and Melisa, along with their family, made a transition to the land-locked nation of Lesotho, surrounded by the country of South Africa. Kevin has set aside flying in order to serve as manager of the Lesotho program. With a team of eight MAF families and several national staff, Kevin leads and guides the team, serves as a liaison between MAF and the numerous organizations they serve in Lesotho, and oversees the financial position of the program, ensuring efficient and responsible use of the resources available.
Kevin shares, "One thing is clear: the need is great, both for physical and spiritual healing. The Bosotho (the people of Lesotho) are trapped in a culture that mixes worship of the ancestors and witch doctors with modern medicine. We, as MAF, want to bring God’s light and love, while meeting their physical needs as well." Whatever changes come their way, Kevin takes comfort in Romans 8:38-39, knowing that no matter what happens in this world or around him, he is secure in God’s love. God’s love is a sure thing and something all believers can count on!
Much of Melisa’s time is devoted to everyday life and maintaining the home. Melisa builds relationships in the community and frequently extends hospitality to guests. Psalms 62:5-8 are important Scriptures in her life. She shares, "They speak about where I can find true rest – in God alone. God is my rock. I’m so glad I have someone upon whom I can trust and depend. He wants me to pour out my heart to Him and to come to Him as a safe place. God is my rest and refuge."
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in the Borrors’ ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
