Tim Brooks

Tim Brooks is excited to serve in Indonesia with Mission Aviation Fellowship. As a maintenance specialist, Tim helps maintain MAF’s fleet of Cessna and Kodiak aircraft, enabling the safe transport of national pastors and other missionaries so that the Gospel will continue to be spread throughout Indonesia. He is serving in Sentani, Papua, at the largest maintenance center in MAF.

Born in Salem, Oregon, and raised on a small farm in nearby Dallas, Oregon, Tim is the oldest of five children. Tim’s mother led him to the Lord when he was about six years old. Growing up in the farm setting sparked a love for the outdoors, which he still enjoys today. at thirteen, Tim rededicated his life to Christ. Around this same time, he had an opportunity to fly in a small airplane and liked it. The next year he got to actually fly the airplane and was hooked! A few years later, while on a mission trip to Jamaica where he helped build housing for missionaries and served the local people, Tim really started to feel God working on his heart to serve in missions.

As his love of aircraft and serving on the mission field bloomed, Tim began to seek ways of preparing for his call to missionary service. After high school, he served in an internship-like program at his local church in Dallas, Oregon, while attending Salem Bible College. From there, he attended Prairie Bible College in Canada, to earn his Commercial Pilot’s license. Following Prairie, paying off his debt and getting his licenses transferred to US licenses, Tim worked as a farmhand, and a sales associate at a sporting goods store. Once out of debt, he continued his training, earning his Aircraft Mechanic Certification from Portland Community College in Oregon.

Ever since junior high, Tim’s motto has been, “Be ready for anything,” based on 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in Tim’s ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with him through prayer and/or financial support.
