Dave and Hilda Fyock and their sons, Sean and Micah, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Dave and Hilda enjoyed their time overseas with MAF in Albania and Costa Rica. As vice president of Operations, Dave Fyock oversees the following divisions of MAF: Field Operations, Aviation Resources, Technical Resources, Finance and Legal, Safety and Quality, and Special Projects.
Dave states, “MAF is about overcoming barriers that keep people from having access to both the Gospel and the resources that advance God’s Kingdom. Acts 17:26 indicates that God has set a time and determined the borders for every nation or people group so that they will come to seek His face. I am privileged to serve with an organization that focuses on the least accessible areas of the world.”
God had been preparing Dave and Hilda from childhood for this ministry. Both became Christians when they were five years old and came from strong Christian homes. Dave was born in Pennsylvania, and lived in Venezuela, with his missionary parents during his teen years. It was there that he felt called to the ministry. Dave received a B.S. degree in Aviation Technology from LeTourneau University in Texas. He is a licensed airframe and powerplant mechanic as well as a commercial pilot.
Hilda says, "My parents and their missionary friends were the biggest influence in my life. We always had missionaries speaking in our churches, and staying in our home. When I was in my early teens, I told the Lord I would go wherever He wanted me to go." Hilda's father was a United Methodist minister in northern Indiana. Hilda received a B.A. in Broadcast Communications from Asbury University and a M.A. in Telecommunications from Baylor University in Texas.
In Albania and Costa Rica, she enjoyed hosting people in her home, facilitating women’s Bible studies, teaching computer to unwed mothers, producing videos for theological education, as well as taking care of her own family. She now works as the Corporate Training manager developing a structure and training resources for all of MAF.
Hilda quotes 2 Corinthians 12:9 as a favorite verse, "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness,' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." She says, "God continues to give me some unique opportunities to serve Him as He has in the past, and I continue to learn about trusting Him."
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in Dave and Hilda’s ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
