Brent Halvorsen

Brent Halvorsen is excited to use his talents and the training he has received in the aviation industry for the purpose of spreading the Gospel to some of the most remote communities in the world. As a maintenance specialist, Brent desires to serve the MAF community by performing aircraft maintenance to make the goals of the Great Commission a reality and bring hope to many people groups. His work will mainly be centered at MAF headquarters in Idaho, with several trips a year to support larger maintenance projects at different bases throughout the world.

Born in Reston, Virginia, Brent was raised in a diverse cultural environment that helped shape his desire to serve people outside of his home country. Giving his life to Christ at the age of 19, he has spent the past several years pursuing what God would have of him, ultimately leading him to serve with MAF.

Brent attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he majored in Biblical studies and aviation maintenance. Throughout his time at college, he was able to participate in two short-term trips: one to Bangkok, Thailand, and the other to Dondo, Mozambique. These sparked a desire for mission work that would eventually lead to working with MAF for four months as a hangar volunteer.

After graduating from college, he moved to Boise, Idaho, to pursue a church planting opportunity with fellow graduates. During that time, he also started working for various companies at the Boise airport and gained valuable perspective and experience related to the world of aviation. This train of events has led him to dedicate the next season of his life to serving God as an MAF maintenance specialist.
