Jack and Angie Hamstra

Jack and Angie Hamstra are excited to serve the Lord as missionaries with MAF and use their God-given talents to serve the people of Indonesia. Jack will use his aviation maintenance experience to maintain aircraft that will transport national church pastors, deliver community development supplies, and provide lifesaving medical evacuation flights. Angie will continue to care for their three teenagers and hopes to use her ministry skills once they are settled overseas.

Jack was born and raised in a rural community in northwest Indiana. He grew up knowing the Lord but fully surrendered his life to Jesus at age 26. As he worked in two aviation careers, God continued to provide opportunities such as mission trips, leadership in youth ministry and small groups, foster care, adoption and local recovery ministry. He began to feel a pull to use his skills overseas to continue loving others in action and in truth through MAF.

Angie grew up in the same community as Jack. She accepted Jesus as her Savior after she was invited to a youth group in high school. Soon after, she traveled to Costa Rica with a group from her high school and has felt a call to missions ever since. Throughout the years of serving alongside Jack, fulltime ministry has always been her dream. She is thankful that God has led their family to MAF.

Because Angie was friends with Jack's sister, she met Jack at the end of her senior year of high school. They were married in 2000, a little over a year after meeting. They have four children, Emma, Jackson, RJ and a daughter, Laila, who went to be with the Lord in early 2017. The Hamstras have endured several hard things throughout their 19 years of marriage, but through each trial and triumph, they feel God has drawn them closer to Himself and that He has been prepared them for such a time as this to serve people with Christ's love through MAF.
