John and Nancy Hook

John and Nancy Hook are Mission Aviation Fellowship missionaries serving at Nampa, Idaho headquarters as recruiting mobilizers. They began their career in 1975 as a pilot family in Indonesia. After flying several years out of various interior bases, they were later assigned to fly in Haiti. It was in 1996 when John joined the flight training department at the MAF headquarters, working with newly appointed pilots in preparation for overseas flight assignments. During these years Nancy worked part-time at the MAF office while being wife and mother.

Later, John transitioned to the recruiting/mobilizing department, where he and Nancy continue to serve, as the need for more pilots has continued to increase in MAF's worldwide programs. They travel a lot to meet with individual contacts throughout the southwestern USA when not working at the office. John interviews perspective missionaries and leads them through the entire application process.

John came to know the Lord as his personal Savior during his teenage years. He grew up in Xenia, Ohio and at age 19 he was on his way to Vietnam, where he worked with a helicopter crew. John attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida and graduated from western Pacific University with a B.S. degree.

John and Nancy met at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. They both realized God would use them as a united team to spend their lives serving in missions. They were married in 1972 and departed for Indonesia in 1976. Over the years, God blessed them with Elisabeth, Estee, Stephen and Thomas. Through marriage they have added Kurt and Almaria to their family, who have provided them with a total of 4 grandchildren.

John holds rating for commercial and instrument pilot's licenses, airline transport for fixed wing aircraft and helicopter, certified flight instructor, ground instructor and an airframe and power plant certificate (aircraft mechanic license). Nancy graduated from Daytona Beach College, in FL and Crafton Hills College, in CA with A.A. degrees in education and liberal studies.

The Hooks are active in their local church, involved in a neighborhood Bible study and neighbor evangelistic program, and they spend a lot of their free time ministering to the newly settled refugees in the Boise, ID community.

God called the Hooks to GO…to FLY…to RETURN stateside…to TRAIN OTHERS…to RECRUIT…to MOBILIZE OTHERS…all for the purpose of fulfilling the GREAT COMMISSION as they faithfully serve Him. He might be calling YOU to a special role in The Hooks' ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a ministry partner with them through prayer and financial support. They are continuing to build their team!
