Ryan and Annabel Koher

Ryan and Annabel Koher look forward to answering God’s call on their hearts as they serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Ryan will use his skills as a pilot/mechanic to share Christ’s love in Mozambique by providing transportation to spread the Gospel and help develop communities. As a homemaker, Annabel will be supporting Ryan and raising their newborn son, Elias. She also hopes to get involved in the community and teach Elias about serving the Lord and serving others.

Ryan grew up in Riverside and Crestline, California, in a Christian home and, at the age of five, invited Jesus into his heart. During his teen years, Ryan took part in various mission trips. His desire to serve the Lord and his interest in aviation came together when he saw MAF missionary brochures at his church. He knew God was calling him to serve with MAF. On a mission trip to Ecuador, Ryan was given the opportunity to ride along on flights with MAF pilots. This fueled him to continue working towards all of his pilot and mechanic licenses in southern California. Ryan went on to work in various aviation maintenance positions before becoming a flight instructor and a charter pilot/mechanic.

Annabel grew up in Lakewood and Long Beach, California, in a Christian family and dedicated her life to Christ at 5 years old. As a teenager, she felt God calling her into missions. Through her mom’s encouragement to start locally, Annabel began volunteering at the Long Beach Rescue Mission. Just before she turned 18, she went to India on a mission trip and God confirmed her calling. Annabel graduated from California Baptist University in 2016 with a B.A. in Intercultural Studies. While in college, she served the Lord through participating in mission trips and co-leading a homeless outreach. Annabel has since worked in financial aid, homeless alleviation, and home care.

In 2014, Ryan and Annabel met working at Thousand Pines Christian Camp. Their mutual desire to serve the Lord through missions became evident, and they began dating. A year and a half later, in August 2016, they were married. In May 2019, they became a family of three when they welcomed their son, Elias.

Ryan and Annabel hold onto the words found in Psalm 139:9-10, knowing that God will guide them as they serve in remote areas.
