Alex and Patricia Ludvicek

Alex and Tricia Ludvicek serve as missionaries out of Nabire in Papua, Indonesia, with Mission Aviation Fellowship. As a pilot/mechanic, Alex uses aviation as a tool to show Christ's love to isolated people. Tricia continues to take care of the family while maintaining a welcoming home in their new setting and being involved in local ministry. Together, Alex and Tricia seek to build relationships with the local community. I Thessalonians 2:8 encourages them as they follow God's call, "We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you have become so dear to us."

Alex was raised in a Christ-loving home in North Liberty, IA, and accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age. He rededicated his life to Christ in high school which led him to pursue missions at some point in life. After a stent perusing engineering and the military, God made it clear that His plans were for something else. The result was a move to Spokane, Washington, to study mission aviation at Moody Bible Institute. There he graduated in 2014 with a degree in Missionary Aviation Technology.

Tricia was blessed to grow up with God-fearing parents and a strong Christian community in Iowa City, and she accepted Christ as her Savior in elementary school. As she grew older and became more exposed to the brokenness of this world, her faith and desire to serve Him grew. Concurrently, several short-term mission trips provided her a grounded view of missions and open eyes to the work God is doing to build His Church globally. She then attended the University of Iowa where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in social work in June 2011.

Friends since high school, Alex and Tricia were married in August 2011. Upon Alex's graduation from Moody, the Ludviceks moved back to Iowa City where he turned wrenches in the airport shop and flight instructed to gain more experience. Tricia also delved into the aviation field by working at the airport's front desk. They joyfully welcomed their son, Jackson, in June 2016 just before their acceptance into MAF. After training and fundraising, they moved to Java, Indonesia for language school where Benaya was born in August of 2018, and then began their service on the Island of Papua in early 2019.

God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in Alex and Tricia's ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a ministry partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
