Dick and Mary Martin serve in Papua, Indonesia, at the MAF base in Sentani. They share, "God's grace continues to sustain us as we seek to obey His calling to MAF's ministry here in Papua. Having a part in His plan to mature and develop His Church is at the same time exciting and humbling."
As Chief of Maintenance for the Papua Program, Dick is involved in maintenance orientation training for new staff, aircraft model transition training, and ongoing currency training and evaluations for program mechanics. This same role also allows him to oversee maintenance safety as part of routine aircraft operations. This term, Dick has been part of the developing maintenance program on the newly introduced Quest Kodiak aircraft.
Dick shares that Colossians 1:15-17 is a Scripture he refers to often because it grounds him and serves as a reminder that regardless of his circumstances, God "holds it all together."
Mary devotes most of her time to the care of their family, but shares that she is also MAF's representative to the Hillcrest School Board. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13. Mary shares that this verse has encouraged her to live every day exhibiting that joy and peace which faith provides.
The youngest Martin, Joel, is now in middle school and attends Hillcrest. The Martins' two adult children are fully transitioned to life in Washington State. Kara will complete her nursing degree at Seattle Pacific University this June. Ben recently graduated from college with a Mission Aviation degree and plans a spring/summer internship at MAF's Idaho hangar.
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in the Martins' ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
