Clay and Becky Walter are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship. Clay shares that being a maintenance specialist allows him to combine his God-given skills and passion for serving others while obeying His calling in Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” The Walters served 5½ years in one of our restricted-access programs and 3 years at MAF headquarters in Nampa, Idaho. They are currently on-loan to the team in Papua New Guinea. Clay loves being able to use his maintenance skills to glorify the Lord and serve others!
Becky is a full-time mother for Seth, Brian, and Taylor, which keeps her very busy! She also enjoys helping Clay out with some of the paperwork at the hangar and steps in to serve wherever she is able. Becky shares that I Corinthians 15:58 is one of her favorite verses: “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” She is always encouraged to remember that God will use her wherever He places her.
Clay was raised in a loving, Christian home in East Greenville, PA. Through the strong Biblical teaching of his home church and the explanation and encouragement of his mother, Clay accepted Christ as a five-year-old. With a strong mechanical aptitude, he took the Larry Burkett Career Direct Test during high school. The Lord used this in his life for guidance and direction. He shares that he has “not looked back since.” He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, in Chicago, IL, in 2003 with a B.S. in Missionary Aviation Technology. One of his favorite Scriptures is Revelation 22:12: “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.” “This is a reminder of the promise that Christ is coming soon.”
Becky was born and raised in Lansdale, PA. She accepted Christ at a young age, benefiting from the blessing of a Christian home and strong church. Exposed to missions at a very young age through family members on the mission field, as well as correspondence with a devoted missionary nurse from her home church, she felt called to missions even in the second grade. She pursued that goal with a mission major at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.
God calls the men and women of MAF to serve Him in unique ways. He may also be calling you to a special role in the Walters’ ministry. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Ministry Partner with them through prayer and/or financial support.
